Ethics in Citizen Engagement

Urban administration is generally characterized by prioritising instrumental features of technology such as information dissemination and service delivery which emphasize efficiency and cost saving. Moreover, it has also been noted that the distribution of technical infrastructure and services can often have socio-economic and spatial biases leading to polarization and disadvantage. This research will explore these issues through empirical case studies located in institutional, organisational and community settings, identifying strategies which will enable and support greater collaboration, consensus-building and technical citizenship.
